since I last posted. I have some time this weekend. I should post some new stuff. And I actually will as I have some new terrain I’ve put together.

In the right of the second is a another upcoming project in saharianas. Mike was kind enough to send me the listings for these guys awhile ago, though I think BattleFront have updated the list for second edition since.

These are actually further along than they show here. I did some details last night.

Also played a game today. Good fun. Germans vs. Brits. Grenadiers defending are tough, especially with pioneers. Hopefully get pics of finished panthers in the next couple of days.

You should notice in the previous post that I attempted to add a separate pic of another sepia photo I took of one of my shermans. Well, the road to hell is lined with good intentions. If I try to update the post, it trys to add it gallery section that has the other three photos in addition to placing it where I want it. Now if I go to edit the one out of the gallery section it flat deltes out of my blog media folder. WTF?

I can’t fix it now as I am at work and don’t have the photos handy. I may end up linking my pics to my photobucket account.

I have expanded and edited the Blogroll section to your right.

I have added Lord Ashram’s House of War. This is primarily because his wargames room makes me jealous. His 10mm stuff is really cool looking, also. I could be talked into that scale one day.

There is also What Would Patton Do? Posts some great pics and battle reports with maps. Good stuff!

Lastly, there is Lead, Paint, and the General. He looks to be new to FoW, but is still a wargamer with some good pics.

Some in progress stuff; panthers this time. (Yes, Mike those are the rest of the shermans behind them…)

You should also notice a couple of marders. Those were kind of a one-off type of purchase. I also realised I didn’t have any SP AT for my Germans, so here they are.

These are also a good bit further on than the pics show as I took these before the weekend. So far they have mostly had all of their highlights done and waiting for bases to be done.

Next in the pipe are the 76 shermans. I had planned to get these in just after I finshed their 75-armed brethren, but realised I hadn’t fitted any of the base painted ones with Cullin devices. I managed a trade to get another set so I could have some with hedgerow cutters and be able to intermingle. I also thought that, at some point in FOW, I’ll be able to use more than one platoon of 76’s. So, once the panthers and marders are done, I’ll do the the shermans. I think I may try to shoehorn in the 105 shermans, too.

After that, I have a schwere panzer company I  want to get finished that is in various pieces-parts about the place.

When I get some time over the weekend, I may make a stab at actually organising and grouping up the projects I want to get to this year and post it up in the section I made for that very pupose that is to your left.

To show that it’s not all modelling here I dug out pics from various things that I bothered to photograph.

For those not familiar with the western part of the US, below is the view from 9,123 feet looking toward Lake Tahoe’s south shore:

Also, here is a nice pic from the wife’s and mine trip to the coast back in October. It’s a seal sleeping on a rock in Monterrey Bay.

So, I’m alive. To answer Mike’s question; yes, the shermans are finished, except for the 76’s.

These were done in September. Since then, I haven’t actually got much done. I’ve had good intentions and have even contributed to the lead mountain but not much production.

In fact, with the intrusion of work being a bit more draining than has been the case in past years, I have been re-assessing what sorts of things I actually want to get done. I have initially decided to try to clear the backlog sitting on my painting desk. I think I had talked about this before but I ended up putting more stuff on the desk. Not terribly efficient, I realise.

I have some more photos of games and models that I’ll save for the next post to show I haven’t been completely idle.

…Holy Crap!

Almost three months since I last did a post.

I’d like to say I haven’t been idle. That wouldn’t be completely false, but only just.

I did get the shermans finished and I have a couple of quick photos, albeit, kind of blurry, of them.

I’m going to attempt to get better photos later this week.

The OTHER kind of painting...

I took the above today before I primed it. This project has been going on since late June. Primarily since we’re somewhat frugal, and since the last paint job on the house was sub-par, we have had to do a lot of scraping and replacing of trim and replacing some of the sheathing. I will freely admit that I am not a carpenter by trade. Nor a house painter. The pics above show most of the last part of what we have to do. I’ll be glad when it’s over.

Work continues to be a mental drain but things are looking up as I get it more under control.

I will not detail my Historicon experience until a later post.

I’m going to sign off of this post so I can get some more painting and assembly done.

…since I last posted. I was beginning to get on a roll until some things changed at work. There was a bit of merge of departments at work and soon after that, I was promoted. So, I have been a bit busy.

I have gotten in some games, though some the details I can’t share. The latest was a good bash of our own groups version of Market Garden using the Flames of War rules. I would like to have some pics of the game but I have been bad about getting the camera out for games.

In painting related news, I have made some progress on the Shermans, albeit without photos. I have most of the markings on them that they need, so it is about time for weathering. After them are the tigers and then, maybe, the panthers.

In Historicon news, I don’t remember if I mentioned it before, I’m only going to try to hit the play-in tourney and it is only 600 points, as many games as you can get in in about 4 hours. That’ll be fun and it gives me time to peruse the rest of the con at my leisure.

That’s about it for now. Hopefully I can get back on the ball with getting some painting and photo updates on the site.
